Get Grounded with Gratitude

It's easy to feel a bit overwhelmed when you're in a moment of endless possibilities for your next chapter.

This gratitude exercise can help you feel more secure in uncertain times,

Make a list of the things that you're grateful will continue to be in your life for the next year.

This will give you something to reference to help you stay grounded moving forward. Is a year not a long enough time span to give you a warm cozy feelings? Make it things that you’re confident will be around for five years, or more!

Ideas to get you started:

  • Listing the names of your closest friends.

  • Listing the names of your supportive family members.

  • Noting skills you've already learned and feel confident in.

  • Hobbies you enjoy that you will keep up outside of work.

  • Little daily delights you can always look forward to (such as your morning cup of tea).

Take the time to notice and appreciate the things from your list every day.

Start to pay attention to little day-to-day delights in your life, and add to this list whenever a new gratitude comes to mind.
